Art Basel 2021

Watch now

Art Basel 2021 was filled with great food, genuine connections and of course breathtaking art. Basel this year did a great job representing the underrepresented in the art community- women of color. Gatekeeper a piece from Chanell Angeli’s most recent collection, “Portals in the Matrix”, was shown at Spectrum Art Fair in Wynwood. The fair boast that it circulated roughly 15000 people throughout the weekend. So, it’s no surprise we caught some familiar faces admiring her work.

We had the chance to swing by the “Back to Healing” Exhibition curated by Marcus John, that shined a spot light on scoliosis, a condition well known to Chanell as some close to her are affected by the spinal ailment.

It seems after that it was a world wind of events and exhibitions. Some of her favorites were the Basquiat and Friends show put on by Triller and The Bishop Gallery, Scope Art Fair on the beach and the private brunch at artist Carlos Bentacourt’s Miami villa where guest were serenaded by a mariachi band.
